Brainstorm Room

Privacy Policy

Effective September 30, 2026

Brainstorm Room is built on one principle: your ideas are private by default. This policy explains what we store, where, and why.

Private ideas

Ideas you capture — text, voice recordings and transcripts — are stored only on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your own private iCloud storage managed by Apple. We do not operate servers that receive, read or store your private ideas.

Speech recognition

Voice recordings are turned into text by Apple's Speech framework. When your device supports it, this happens entirely on your iPhone. Otherwise, audio may be sent to Apple to be transcribed, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We never receive your recordings for transcription.

Public ideas and your account

An account is only needed if you choose to share an idea, like or report. When you do:

Making an idea private again, or deleting it, removes the public copy (text and audio) from our servers. Ideas others built on it remain theirs, but no longer show your text.

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand whether the app is useful, the app sends simple usage events (for example "app opened" or "idea captured") together with a random identifier created on your device and the app version. These events never contain your ideas, recordings, transcripts, search terms or your name, and are not linked to your account.

Where data is stored

Public ideas, accounts and usage statistics are stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase, in the United States. Our website is hosted by Vercel. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

Your choices

Children

Brainstorm Room is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
